ABOUT THE

Program

The Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages with an emphasis in English at Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) has the objective of training professionals competent in the teaching of English and capable of assuming their role as agents of change in the educational, political, economic, and social reality of the country.

Its strength lies in the high academic and research training it provides to students, its professors, its infrastructure, and the proper management of its resources to provide immediate and timely operation.

The program was designed to strengthen the social and intercultural projection that has historically characterized the Language School, through its lines of training and research, and which has been strengthened inits undergraduate and graduate programs in response to the needs of the environment.

Applicants pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages with an emphasis in English must have a basic knowledge of the English language; show a special interest in reading, studying, teaching, and researching foreign languages, particularly English. They must be open to dialogue of knowledge with other cultures and to multilingualism that goes through languages equally and effectively. These characteristics will contribute to the proper development of their teaching and research vocations in regional, national, and international contexts.
