ABOUT THE
Program
The Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) is an undisputed leader in training, leadership and participation in the teaching and learning processes of mathematics. This program responds to the growing need for qualified personnel in the teaching of mathematics not only in Santander or the northeast region but throughout the country.
The School of Mathematics has been offering this program for approximately 35 years. Its graduates are today the mathematics teachers in Santander, the northeast region and many of them have continued studies of specialization, master and doctorate both in the field of mathematical education and in pure or applied mathematics, which is why most of them work as teachers at universities of national and international prestige.

The applicant to study the Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) must feel comfortable with mathematics, have the required skills to assimilate its study, and show a particular interest in pedagogy.
Likewise, they must possess a spiritual service, empathy, and creativity since their professional performance will revolve around the guidance of learning processes in young people and children.
These qualities, added to an outstanding academic rigor and wide knowledge of science, will guarantee successful educational work for all graduates.

To spread the recreational aspect of mathematics by creating pedagogical environments that allow him and his students to explore the mathematical world in a creative and enthusiastic way.
