Program

The Bachelor’s degree in Music at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) trains professionals with a disciplinary mastery in aspects such as artistic-musical expression, creation and performance. Likewise, the program guides its students from a holistic vision that includes the inherent features of the discipline in particular and the characteristics of humane education as citizens committed to democracy and environmental sustainability.

The program has the general purpose of training professionals with a critical conscience and personal criteria to perform responsibly in society, taking care of the cultural heritage, the environment and the peaceful coexistence of citizens.

Applicants to the Bachelor's Degree in Music of the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) has minimum conditions related to aspects such as: sensitivity and taste for music in general, auditory recognition of heights and musical rhythm, intonation with the voice, elementary knowledge of musical language, elementary interpretation of an instrument and basic information about the history of world music or musical movements.

Graduates of the Bachelor's Degree in Music at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) are competent professionals in both the pedagogical and artistic fields, an aspect that enables them to teach at the level of schools, universities and non-formal music education institutions.

Likewise, they possess the necessary knowledge to create documents of academic rigor, an activity that allows them to participate as speakers in congresses, write research articles and lead research proposals related to a specific area of music.

Field

Graduates in Music from the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) may work as teachers in formal and non-formal education. Likewise, they have the experience required to assume challenges in the participation and direction of different instrumental and/or vocal ensembles.
