ABOUT THE
Program
The undergraduate degree in Law from the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) aims to train professionals capable of generating a fundamental transformation in both legal doctrine and legislation and jurisprudence. Likewise, it aims to instruct professionals and researchers on an academic, ethical and humanistic basis that allows them to develop critical awareness to act responsibly in society and contribute to the requirements of the contemporary world, especially in terms of regional and national development.
Based on a relevant study plan, enriched with international experiences, the program is oriented to form agents of transformation of the legal reality through the rescue of the institutional identity.

Graduates of the Law program at the Universidad Industrial de Santander are ethical and well-rounded citizens with political awareness and an innovative mindset. They possess a solid theoretical and practical foundation in law and the ability to analyze national and international realities from diverse sociopolitical and cultural perspectives, contributing to the development of a just, equitable, and peaceful society.
Graduates stand out for their sensitivity in addressing human relations and managing social conflicts, as well as for their ability to manage information in the context of new technologies, enabling them to address legal and social challenges. They also possess interpretive, research, argumentative, and proposal-development skills for professional practice, which they apply through a pluralistic, participatory, democratic, and interdisciplinary approach.
In relation to the above, graduates of the Law program are prepared to work as well-rounded legal professionals in the public and private sectors, at both the national and international levels. They are equipped to prevent and manage conflicts within the frameworks of formal, restorative, and community justice, as well as through the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
