ABOUT THE

Program

The undergraduate degree in Law from the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) aims to train professionals capable of generating a fundamental transformation in both legal doctrine and legislation and jurisprudence. Likewise, it aims to instruct professionals and researchers on an academic, ethical and humanistic basis that allows them to develop critical awareness to act responsibly in society and contribute to the requirements of the contemporary world, especially in terms of regional and national development.

Based on a relevant study plan, enriched with international experiences, the program is oriented to form agents of transformation of the legal reality through the rescue of the institutional identity.

The candidates for the undergraduate degree in Law at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) have a high level of reasoning and a solid capacity for argumentation, skills that strengthen their analysis and understanding of the social, political and legal reality that is the object of their intervention. They are also characterized by a high social sensitivity that allows them to sustain excellent human relations and to perform an optimal teamwork. Likewise, they demonstrate a strong reading-writing component and a firm capacity for expression.

Lawyer graduated from UIS respond to the characteristics and projections of the field of Law in the region and the country through:

  • Their hermeneutic, heuristic and proactive capacity, which allows them to enrich and contribute to the existing knowledge.

  • Their skills in planning, communication, information management, and problem-solving.

  • Their handling of concepts and strategies oriented to the understanding, analysis and critical interpretation of the practices of law.

  • Their social and ethical competences, which allow him to generate conditions of integral development.
