ABOUT THE Program

Program Offered Through Sequential Academic Cycles

The Cultural and Creative Business Administration program aims to train well-rounded professionals with the skills needed for the strategic and sustainable management of cultural and creative organizations and ventures. It provides theoretical and practical tools in business management, project management, economics, marketing, strategic planning, and sector-specific legislation, while fostering leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

The program also promotes applied research in cultural and creative business administration, contributing to knowledge development and the continuous improvement of the sector. In addition, it encourages engagement with external stakeholders through strategic partnerships and joint projects, ensuring that students apply their knowledge in real-world settings and strengthen their ties with the professional environment.

Applicants to the Cultural and Creative Business Administration program offered through sequential academic cycles must meet the requirements and complete the admission procedures established for entry into higher education by the Ministry of National Education and Universidad Industrial de Santander. The Cultural and Creative Business Administration program seeks to attract students with aptitudes and skills related to business administration and management in the cultural and creative sectors.

Applicants should have:

  • An interest in and passion for culture and creativity, as well as enthusiasm for art, culture, heritage, and creativity in all their forms. Applicants should be motivated to work in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.
  • The ability to analyze complex situations, identify challenges, and propose innovative solutions. Applicants should demonstrate logical reasoning, decision-making, and adaptability in response to changes and uncertainties in their environment.
  • An interest in generating new ideas, thinking outside the box, and finding creative solutions to business challenges in the cultural and creative sectors.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to take calculated risks.

Graduates of the Cultural and Creative Business Administration program offered through sequential academic cycles at Universidad Industrial de Santander are well-rounded, ethical, and innovative citizens who understand cultural needs and challenges and are able to propose creative solutions at the regional, national, and international levels. They also possess the conceptual foundations and competencies that enable them to continuously learn how to learn, learn how to do, learn how to live together, and learn how to be.

Cultural and Creative Business Administrators are trained to undertake organizational and sector-based initiatives. They are capable of connecting creative capabilities with audiences and markets through strategic business models with a focus on sustainability.

They have the competencies required to work both independently and as part of a team to generate new knowledge and propose projects and strategies within their field, bringing together stakeholders and capabilities that support the growth and consolidation of the cultural and creative industries at the regional, national, and global levels.

Cultural and Creative Business Administrators are competent in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the different stages of projects in the cultural and creative sector. They also manage organizational and sectoral resources within the creative, cultural, and knowledge economies, recognizing and valuing heritage and cultural diversity in order to contribute to the design of creative products and services and to the development and implementation of projects, plans, and policies tailored to specific social contexts. The learning outcomes of the Cultural and Creative Business Administration program are designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively and strategically administer and manage organizations and projects in the cultural and creative sectors. These learning outcomes will enable graduates to address the challenges of the sector and contribute to its development and growth.

  1. Comprehensively evaluate organizational situations and issues within the cultural and creative economies, with a focus on assessing the expressive value of the sector’s products and services and preserving cultural heritage.
  2. Develop strategies based on new knowledge that connect the organization’s administrative, cultural, and creative processes with audiences through products with high expressive value and economic recognition in the market, taking into account the political, economic, legal, and social context at the regional, national, and global levels, in order to promote artistic products and enhance the sector’s competitiveness.
  3. Propose projects, programs, plans, and policies that bring together the capabilities and interests of diverse stakeholders in order to strengthen the competitive position of the cultural and creative sector in the region and the country.
  4. Develop business models based on the principles of innovation and sustainability, in accordance with the administrative capabilities and value chain of the cultural and creative sector.
  5. Design marketing plans for the cultural and creative economies in order to meet audience needs through appropriate, viable, and high-value-added initiatives.
  6. Manage the technical, logistical, administrative, and financial resources required for cultural projects.
  7. Acquire and apply new knowledge arising from changes and developments in the field of administration and in the cultural and creative economies.
  8. Manage the integration of technology and techniques into the creation, production, distribution, circulation, consumption, and preservation of cultural and creative works through innovative, cutting-edge solutions that enhance the viability and quality of creative projects.
